In the spring of 2007, Growing Washington and a dozen Whatcom County farmers joined together to form a multiple-farm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) system. Through this program, people in Whatcom County invested in a share of the harvests from over a dozen local small farms. By purchasing a share at the beginning of the growing season, members gave financial support to their local farmers and in return received a weekly box of the highest quality fruits and vegetables grown in their area.
The Growing Whatcom CSA enjoyed a successful season in 2007 and anticipates even greater success in 2008, with even a wider variety of products, recipes included in every box, and newsletters that acquaint members with new food and new farmers. Whether you are a farmer or a consumer, we look forward to your participation in the 2008 Growing Whatcom CSA.
