Eating Local is Easy! Choosing a CSA box from us in Skagit or Whatcom County is an easy way to get local, organically grown fruits and veggies from the great farmers of Northwestern Washington.
Just hop on line and order your personal choice of fresh vegetable, fruits, free-range eggs and herbs from the more than 200 varieties of crops we grow. We harvest your food, pack your personalized box and deliver it to your neighborhood, home or workplace in less than 36 hours.
But remember, all of our food is grown locally. You will still have to go the store for your bananas and grapefruit, or tomatoes if you want them before mid-July. Check out our crop list and crop calendar to see all the great tasting foods that can be grown in our region and when they are available!
Customer Service Once the season begins our friendly staff will send you a weekly e-mail reminding you to pick up your box, and for our Local Choice Food Box customers, you'll get an email reminding you to place your weekly order. To choose, you just log on to our website, choose the items you want from our order page and leave the rest to us. We will harvest and wash the crops you want, pack your box, deliver it to your neighborhood, home or office and send you another reminder e-mail that your box has arrived.
Season Dates
- Our summer season Local Choice Food Box runs for 18 weeks, from Thursday, June 16th to Thursday, October 13th. A fall/winter Local Choice Food Box running through Christmas will be available after the summer session.
-Our summer season Viva Skagit and Growing Whatcom CSA programs run for 20 weeks, from Thursday, June 16 th to Thursday, October 27 th . Both Viva Skagit and Growing Whatcom CSAs will have fall/winter shares running through Christmas available after the summer session.
Because our food is grown locally by our farming coalition and not ordered each week from a distributer, we do ask that people sign up for the whole season. We plan our crops, buy seed, plant fields and hire labor based on the number of customers we have. Therefore, we cannot accommodate the fluctuations of week to week participation.
However, we also understand that subscribing to something for an entire growing season is not a typical experience for the American consumer--therefore we do have a payment plan option and will gladly refund your money if you find our food or program doesn't meet your needs.
We are more than happy to accommodate your vacations; just let us know ahead of time what you need. And if you ever receive an item that doesn't meet your expectations, please let us know. We are happy to replace it, no questions asked.
