Our Farms
The food for the Local Choice Food Box comes from several Washington farms. Most of our vegetables are grown at the South 47, just north of Redmond, WA.
The South 47 sits in the heart of the Sammamish Valley along the Sammamish River and the Sammammish River Trail. It is one of the few remaining farms in what was once one of the most productive agricultural valleys in the US.
Along with farming at the South 47 site, Growing Washington is responsible for overseeing the farming operations at Alm Hill Gardens, one of the oldest and best organic farms in Washington State. Located in Everson, WA near Bellingham, Alm Hill provides the Local Choice Food Box with raspberries and blueberries, years of farming expertise and market stands where food boxes can be picked up.
The Local Choice Food Box also relies on several organic farms to round out the choices available to our customers. Collins Farm and Martin Family Orchards supply us with excellent local, organic fruit. Alvarez Organic Farm, Willie Greens and Bellewood Acres provide wonderful vegetables Growing Washington doesn't grow and fill in when we have gaps in our crop rotations or outright crop failures.
Our eggs come from Cindy and Brent Rappuhn and their three children at Sky Valley Farm near Startup, Washington.
