Jessica Folkman
Public Health Expert, Native Activist, Wicked Smart
Jess Folkman is, undoubtedly, the healthiest person on the Growing Washington Board of Directors. Accordingly, she heads up our societal health program and has to pry pizzas and cheeseburgers from the rest of our us during board meetings (this explains why she has but seven fingers). Jess, who recently earned her Masters of Public Health at the University of Washington, specializes in Native American issues.
Jess is also, undoubtedly, the nicest and kindest person at Growing Washington. She keeps the rest of us in line when we go off on tangents, and her unwavering morals and humility make her a role-model within our organization and everywhere that she goes. Therefore, we like to get her out in the public to represent our organization as much as possible.
In her spare time Jess enjoys eating squash, dreaming about hanging out with Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen under a large oak tree, gardening, eating Otter Pops, and loaning her sister money.
